Happy New Year! OK, it's the day after, but the New Year begins today for me. I am sitting in front of the TV with my family watching the (wet) Rose Parade and eating Pop Tarts (a family tradition). Thanks to the magic of laptops and wireless DSL, I can do this (is that a good thing or a bad thing?).

I have taken quite a bit of time off this blog, but I will be posting again regularly this year. Though I have not finished my dissertation, it is getting close and I should be a Ph.D. in the next couple of months (pray for me on that one).
